How to Cook Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs

Chef Kenny Yong shares his Sweet and Pork Ribs that has won raves from guests.

Ingredients:

  • 160 gm Pork Ribs
  • 20 gm Red Onion
  • 25 gm Green Bell Pppers
  • 25 gm Red Bell Peppers
  • 30 gm Corn Starch
  • 50 ml Corn Oil
  • 3 gm Chicken Powder
  • 2 gm Iodized Salt
  • 45 ml Cane Vinegar
  • 15 gm Refined Sugar
  • 50 gm Sliced Pineapples
  • 60 ml Tomato Sauce
  • 1 pc Egg

For Sweet and Sour Sauce:
Mix Tomato sauce, vinegar and salt (to taste), then bring to boil.

Procedure:

  1. Cut the pork into quarter size or bite size pieces.
  2. Marinate the pork with salt and chicken powder
  3. Cut the pineapples, red bell peppers, green bell peppers and red onions into small triangular sizes.
  4. Beat the egg (for pork coating).
  5. Heat the oil in a wok.
  6. Dip the marinated pork and cornstarch into the egg mixture and coat.
  7. Deep fry pork in the wok until golden brwon and crispy.
  8. Strain the pork to eliminate the oil.
  9. Boil water.
  10. Blanch the cut pineapples, red bell peppers, green bell peppers and onions for 30 seconds in the pot. Strain and set aside.
  11. Prepare a clean wok. Oil, then sautee the pineapples, red bell peppers, green bell peppers and onion.
  12. Add the sweet and sour sauce.
  13. Add the deep fried pork, let it simmer until the sauce covers the pork.
  14. Serve
